And just like this (*inserts a snap with her fingers*), another year has passed. It has been a bit of a crazy one in my personal life but as always, one to learn from.
Because I was working a full time job for the majority of the year, my photography had to take a bit of a back burner .... not hold completely, just scale way back. Because of this there aren't as many crazy behind the scenes shots this year.
HOWEVER .... there are so many shots that just make me smile and warm my heart, every time I pull them up on my computer screen. Photos that remind me why I love taking pictures of children.... it just shows their purity and innocence. Their characters and attitudes. It's priceless, really!
In the coming year of 2024 I will be back to photography at full capacity and hope to see everyone very soon!
Most importantly, I want to thank all of my "die hard" customers that have been coming back to me year after year, 2023 being no exception. Being part of your family's journey is the biggest compliment and honor any photographer can receive and I want you to know just how much that means to me.
And now on to a look back on 2023 !
When you have a client that can rock a hat like nobody's business ♥♥♥
That set of siblings that just makes your heart melt 😍
You know... that same set of siblings where you have a clear example for the "second child syndrome"? 🤣 (she cracks me up every single time)
Newborn cuteness that needs no words ❤❤❤
That shot at the perfect place, at the perfect time
Witnessing the love of these brand new parents for their daughter 🥰
This little boy that never fails to make me smile ☺
This couple that never stopped being in love ❤❤❤❤
And now we have arrived at the last big event of the year.... my Photos with Santa. And, like every year they did not disappoint. See for yourself...
This little guy was terrified when he first walked in but then Santa let him touch the cuff part of his sleeve and the moment the child's fingers touched the fuzzy fabric, he suddenly reached out and sat on Santa's lap. It was the most magical moment of the entire weekend 🙏🙌❤
Many of the kids adored Santa... specially those that have been coming to our event to meet him year after year. They feel comfortable with him ... as you can see in the following photos
She loves Santa but draws a line at sitting on his lap. You go girl! I love her strong spirit!!
There is just something special when an "older" kid still believes. Right at the verge of outgrowing it, yet you can see they want to hold on to the spirit. THIS right there is heartwarming 🥰
No words needed 😉
Then there are those that aren't quite convinced about this whole thing yet ... sceptical you might say...
Sometimes it's Santa's reactions that have me cracking up ...
Speaking of Santa's reaction. His childhood friend Dave (he is a local running coach... check him out at flyingfeetrunning.com) contacted me in advance to book a session to surprise Santa Scott. I was super excited for this. We did the whole thing.. coming up with a fake name, a fake list of things the child likes and wants ... you know... the works. Below are some photos of the moment it happened and I love it (unfortunately Dave had to have a small surgical procedure on his nose just before the event so the bandage just had to be an accessory). Those of you that had the slot right before and after and saw this lone guy in the waiting room ... this is why. Haha. No weird business happening here. 😉
But here is what you guys really want to see... I know, I know 🤣
I would like to finish this post on my favorite session of this years Photos with Santa. These 2 girls were so excited, they were literally bouncing and vibrating. Their excitement just radiated from them, and was definitely infectious.
The younger one was laughing so hard, she kept snorting, which in return made Santa crack up. My face hurt by the end of this because I could not stop smiling from ear to ear.
You can feel the excitement, just by looking at these photos, can't you?

And this, my friends brings me to the end of my last Blog post of the year.
Once again I want to thank all of you for trusting me to capture lasting memories of various times in your and your children's lives.
I can not wait to see what 2024 has in store. See you all soon!
Lots of love to all of you and a Happy New Year!
Jenni
